AI Upgrades Itself To Fake Missing Data
While everyone is looking to start their holiday list, which by the way never really goes as planned, the damage of the pandemic may still affect our experiences, and plans, for this year.
Today’s tech is leading us to a major shift in reality, status, and living standards. A shift like the dotcom boom, known as the internet, that could affect our lives, in all major departments, in the grandest scale of things.
While automation isn’t exactly new, the automation we experience today is causing a wrong balance between low income families and the ultra rich upper class 1%. Great achievements in grocery apps, google maps, and Shopee has made our lives better in those areas, it is also making one part of our life, much more difficult than it was ever before. You see, increase in automation led to Artificial Intelligence, or AI, which is, making the computers learn via a programming tool called ML.
As in Machine Learning.
It wasn’t long ago that we needed programmers to code for certain applications such as that robot arm flippin’ burgers. today, computers can analyze, learn, and apply their own NEW SET OF CODES that will ultimately make their job better. Coz that’s what their job is. To replace jobs. Our jobs.

That AI, just replaced the operations manager of that company.
I know it sounds like GOOD NEWS coz more freelance video editors means more jobs, right? Well, actually, the AI is learning how video editors edit and create stuff, and given what we know about the pace of tech, as in the rate of change, this MUST HAVE already been going on in the background for years now, before it got to the news.
Which brings us to the next step of AI, the GAN.
What is GAN anyway?
GAN stands for Generative adversarial network- and as weird as it sounds, it gets even weirder when you are in the know. GAN is an AI capable of predicting future data, based on learning. u know, to put things simply, AI is just like a 3 year old kid that learns how to walk, and creating new memories of stumbling during this process. Using what they’ve learned, kids slowly learn to walk without falling. Then, next thing u know, they begin to explore running.
Its almost always an intelligence instinct to upgrade, and for AI, this UPGRADE is called GAN.
GAN can create missing pixels in your video and upscale to 8K. GAN can reconstruct music that was partially erased based on what it knows about melody. And even lyrics. GAN is in Adobe VoCo, a software that is called PHOTOSHOP FOR VOICE, where you can edit what a person says just by typing in a few seconds. And with certain advancements, GAN can already predict the traffic data, and this estimation as led to breakthroughs in battery consumption in electric cars.
There are far too many upgrades for society to mention here in this article, but don’t get me wrong, I like change too.
But change has a notorious way of badly affecting many lives.
I kinda even consider it ironic that with tech constantly improving, tech — nicians are slowly becoming unnecessary. I know someone who just lost his job after the company acquired a robot arm, flippin’ burgers.
I’m not even exaggerating. You can already see news about jobs being replaced by computers, in hopes of creating more complex jobs that only humans can do. Jobs such as, managing.
A worker can get a promotion, to manage the AI settings, but soon, AI can predict which settings are more appropriate for a certain situation. Apple and Google are already doing this based on that millions — more like trillions- of activity data they collect. This is called aggregate data. its also the reason why many services like Waze and Youtube are free.
Tesla is also using AI predictive data, and unlike human drivers with years of amazing but one-sided experience, the tesla AI is a combined learning of all the traffic situations, of all types of roads, in all types of weather, in all kinds of countries, with all regulation standards, with all sizes of people. in the whole, earthly world.

Think about it. If society becomes jobless beginning next year, 2022, then then only way you and I could survive is if we have some sort of a jobless, food producing, method. Such as a rootcrop plantation.
Or a vegetable garden.
Or a business that can make money to buy food. Forget about education, coz there wont be any jobs for the “average steve” anyway.
But what if you’re not the average steve?
What if you were below average, with no house, just living with your parents, with no vegetable garden, with no business, or even close friends who own businesses? What if, right now, you relied on a cruise ship job? Or becoming an aircraft mechanic? Or, being employed in an oil based company in a world leaning towards the GREEN and pollution-free society without the use of engines?
Lemme put it this way: ask yourself this question:
“what if, I was still the old BlockBuster rental shop, in today’s world of Netflix?”
If you answered yes, then you’re probably AT RISK of being in the losing side of things. And nobody wants that, not even for those who aren’t affected. There is a solution to this income problem, though. The UBI or Universal Basic Income. This is the only way for the future as we know it.
