If you’re someone coming from an older blockchain like Ethereum, you probably already know when I rant about speed. And gas fees.

With that said, when Solsea was introduced to me, I was really excited. This was like what I envisioned Opensea to be. Opensea used to be the only option for artists to get exposure, especially with the advent of NFTs, a way to tokenize and imprint a permanent digital footprint on any artwork so no one can steal it. And no, this isn’t a sponsored article of any sort, its just my own personal experience I wanna write about.

When you first venture into the world of art, it may seem very obvious that many people are willing to purchase artworks, but since the growth of the internet, websites like Etsy have been very saturated with artists selling art and projects, and even then, can be a little intimidating, given the royalties and other necessary details that you need to bind together with your art, such as licenses. Back then, digital licenses have not yet been created, and art theft became rampant worldwide, crippling the art industry altogether.

Fast forward 2021, and you can see why I am so excited about this project, the art marketplace called Solsea, where digital licenses are embedded in the art itself, in a public ledger anyone can lookup. This public ledger is called the Solana Blockchain, a revolutionary new network that ensures your safety, and speed, at a fraction of the cost (almost only $0.01), a huge upgrade to my previous experience with Ethereum (rising $300 fees per transaction).
