Why Leaving A Legacy Important
When you buy an expensive pizza and say u pay a thousand bucks for it, do you want to get only a small part of the pizza? No? I didn’t think so.
Of course, you wanna get the whole pizza because you paid in full. In the same way, if you ONLY paid for a small part of the pizza, then you would expect to get only a small part of the pizza.
Similarly one can’t have full time benefits with only a part time commitment.
The Creator has dedicated FULL TIME to you so that you can become a better person.
In the same way, if you want the full experience of a good life, you are gonna have to give it your full time commitment. You have to stay committed to building your legacy, not just because you felt good today. Tomorrow might be a boring day and you might not be feeling it.
In 1867, there was a physicist who was quite literally, bored with life. He was actually a focused man, but he always thought that life was short. In fact, this is what most people often say.
TO me, life isn’t short, we just waste A LOT OF IT.
Anyway, the physicist, out of curiosity, and possibly also boredom, created something that would later explode into a multi million dollar business, making him become, a great salesman.
And by explode, I mean he actually invented the dynamite.
The invention sparked a lot of controversies (see what I did there?), and it was also quite efficient in killing various animals, such as fishes and wildlife, and humans, in a very short, time, all in all, proving his idea that life was indeed, very short.
YouTube was actually pretty much non existent at that time, let alone the internet, and there was no social media to report & celebrate this rather explosive achievement (I’m gonna stop making puns now). The only news reporting they had in 1867 was the radio, and the newspaper.
One day, the physicists brother Ludwig Nobel, passed away, and the newspapers mistakenly reported a different name in the obituary page.
To those Gen-Zs who dont know what an obituary is, its like Wikipedia for dead people & dead stuff, you know, like Tiktok.
For some reason, what they reported instead, was the physicists name,Alfred.
When Alfred read this, we don’t know exactly what his reaction was, but we know that he got a chance to see what other people would say when he died. Sadly, many people actually, kind of, enjoyed it, and one guy even published the words “The salesman of death, is dead”.
Of course, Alfred Nobel knew that this pertained to his invention of the dynamite, and he was probably ashamed of what legacy he was leaving behind because of the feedback from these people. For being labelled as the inventor of the dynamite, such that, it inspired him to donate all his earnings to make a foundation that will celebrate the short, human life.
